Interactive Physics Project - Waves & Vibrations
What is this? This is a simulation of a Chladni Plate. When a rigid square plate is vibrated at specific frequencies, it creates standing waves.
How it Works: The vibration causes areas of maximun movent (antinodes) and areads of zero movents (nodes). The sand particles bounce off the vibrating areas and naturally collect in the nodes, forming beutifull geometric patterns.
Math: The amplitude is calculated using the formula:
z = cos(N*⊓*x) * cos(M*⊓*y) - cos(M*⊓*x) * cos(N*⊓*y)
